La Cinémathèque du Internet
An omnium-gatherum of videos on the web.
- Fridays around the office we begin the steep descent into a drug-induced mind-numbing haze sometime right before lunch, and so our surfing usually takes us to sites like this. But a few weeks ago we stumbled over this awesome iPod movie. Man, I can see right through my own skin. Kewl.
- Don't Ask, Don't Tell. A cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy gets punked by his roommate. Not as memorable as the Numa Numa guy, but then, what is?
- Spike Jonze's ad for Adidas. So what if TV ads are better than commercially released movies?
- Korean ad. Work-friendly. Trust me. Similar idea.
- An ad for Ford Sportka. Work-friendly, but the cat snuffs it. Here's a video for those who think cats are actually useful members of society.
- The missing link between Lawrence Welk and Scissor Sisters. (And speaking of Scissor Sisters, was I the only person that didn't recognize Charlotte Rae in their "Filthy/Gorgeous" video? I once shared a bench with her in Central Park: very nice; seemed to want to be recognized. I didn't pick up on the sexual magenetism thing though.)
- Clever dubbing of the Council of Elrond scene. There's also an article in today's New York Times about Brad Neely's alternate narration for Harry Potter and the Scorcerer's Stone.
- Finger-puppets from the Netherlands. Work-friendly; mildly disturbing.
- A New Bunny. Not your parents' Bugs. Animated, and definitely not work-friendly.
- Teaching kids gun safety. Similar idea with martial arts. Friends shouldn't let friends teach drunk.
- Video of people being zapped by tasers. From Taser International.
- Chicken webcam. Before Burger King gets its hands on them.
