[Terror] We'll Always Have Alabama
Pending a recount November 29, it appears voters rejected Amendment 2 to the Alabama State Constitution on November 2. Amendment 2 would have removed language from the Constitution that mandated segregated education, imposed a poll tax, and specified that Alabama’s children have no right to a state-funded education. That last point was what sank the amendment. Judge Roy Moore and the Christian Coalition led the opposition to the amendment, "to ensure that reckless trial lawyers and activist judges will not be able to open the floodgates to increase taxes and that private, Christian, parochial and home-school families will be protected."
